About

Outside Feelings is a community campaign focused on supporting the mental health and well-being of Black residents across Alameda County.

Through educational blog posts and thoughtful resources, we invite people to prioritize their mental health, connect with others, and openly share their mental health journey.

Our mission

Launched in partnership with Jeweld Consulting, community agencies and advocates, along with the County of Alameda, Outside Feelings aims to:

  • Reduce stigma around Black mental health

  • Build awareness of mental health care for Black residents of Alameda County

  • Highlight the role of connection in supporting mental well-being

Inspired by the vision of former District 5 Supervisor Keith Carson and expanded through conversations with the AA Mental Health and Wellness Coalition, Outside Feelings recognizes that mental health thrives in community.
